by Duane Anderson
I rested my eyes just long enough
to keep peace with the rest of my body.
My eyes were my guru and loyal adviser,
listening to them when they talk.
Wake me up if I have fallen asleep,
tap me on the shoulder.
Yell, hey you, wake up!
You may add any name of your choosing
as you call me.
I decided on taking a nap waiting on you.
You took forever to show up for our meeting.
